Locking up Team Captain Tommy Green was the first and most important piece to the continual success of the Hitmen.  Prowse came over last year in a highly contraversay trade.  Prowse is touted as a top 10 hitter and was proving that in a very hitter friendly park in Alaska, but once he arrived in H'ville he turned into a AA bench player.  The front office is hoping that his horrible stats in H'ville last season was a fluke, hence the 3-yr extention. 2B Pedro Valdez came over in same trade as Prowse and was hitting .290/7/28/.374/.839 in Alaska and showed promise of a breakout year, but turned out to suck balls once he got in to H'ville.  A dominating spring training though has perked up the front offices attention and is the only reason an extension was offered.
