H'ville, Tn (AP) - Huge news in both Hendersonville and Seattle today when it was announced that the two teams had finalized a blockbuster deal. The Hitmen have swapped 25-year-old minor league left fielder Pepe Jiménez and 27-year-old second baseman Pedro Valdéz to the Kings for 27-year-old catcher Jesús Hernández and 23-year-old minor league closer António López.
No one is quiet about this trade. Everyone has an opinion... some think it is good and some think otherwise. Hendersonville's GM Travis Hays told BNN reporters, "I know this might not be a popular decision to a few fans in town, but I think as time goes by, they will soften their stance. This is a good trade for the Hendersonville Hitmen."
And that is exactly what happen as "Dirty" Hernandez hit a HR in each of his first 4 games and capped it off with a 2 HR day in the 4th game giving him 5 HRs and 10 RBIs in his first sim with the team. Hernandez is tied with John Crowe for the early season BSA HR lead.
