2010 MVP Green signs Extension

H'ville, Tn - Tommy Green walked into the Hitmen's media room with the same ole cool and calm approach that he brings to the park everyday.  Once ownership reached out to Green and his agent about signing an extension it didn't take long once the two sides sat down to hammer out a deal.

"Yea, I think it only took about 30 mins (looking over at agent)," commented Green at the press conference.  "This is where I want to play I love it here in H'ville I don't care about being the highest paid playerI care about winning titlesThat's why I come to work everyday...to WINThere is no better place in VBL6 to play and win and Mr. Hays and the rest of the front office has proven that."

Name: Tommy Green
Age: 26
Pos: 1B
Bats: Left
2012 Salary: $12.5M
Extension: 3-yrs, $31.5M
Awards: 2010 MVP, 2010 All-Star, 4x PoW, 1x PoM, 1xRoM

Green will be the highest paid Hitman in 2012 making $12.5M this year, but agreed to take a pay cut in his extension in order to help the franchise re-sign some other key pieces.  Over the next 3 years Green will make $10.5M with some bonus clauses that could jump it up to $12-$12.5M a year.

Despite his MVP in 2010, Green still doesn't have the league wide recognition as a Pittman or Yokoyama, but in his 5-yr career Green has put up some impressive career averages hitting .319, 26 HR's, 102 RBI's, 101 Runs, 31 2Bs, 76 BB's, .399 OBP and a .925 OPS.

Some owners around the league have mentioned how unimpressed their scout is with Green, but I'll take his production on the field over what any scout says everyday of the week.

"Scouting reports don't win you ball games, great players producing wins you games." commented Hays.
