Game 1 Recap: Hill vs Bolden was just what many expected..a pitching clinic. Both SP pitched 4.0 scoreless innings, while Hill struck out 6 and walked 1 while Bolden only struckout 2 and walked 2. Game 2 Recap: Art Ellis took the mound for his 2nd spring start and pitched 4.0 shutout innings, only allowing 1 hit and striking out 4. The big news came immediately after the game though when H'ville front office annouced they had just locked up Ellis to a 3-yr extension for $7.5M a year.
The offense had a good day lead by 2B P. Valdéz who had one of the oddest stat lines you will see. Valdez went 1 for 1 with 4 walks, 4 runs and his 3rd HR of the spring.
