H'ville, Tn - As June comes to an end and July rolls in that means the 3rd annual VBL6 All-Star game is around the corner. This year the game was anything but quite as controversy, bickering and chatter filled owner's inbox's for over a week with All-Star related noise.
Heading into this year summer classic the series is tied at 1-1. The Trillian League won in 2010 7-6 in a HR fest as 6 HR's were hit in that game, 2 by game MVP Louis May. In 2011 the Marvin League won 6-4 as newly acquired Hitmen RF John Prowse hit 2 HRs to lead the ML to victory and win the All-Star game MVP. This year the Marvin League made it 2 in row as they shutout the Trillian League 5-0 and for the 3rd straight year a player hit 2 HR's in the game. This year it was Sac's CF Julie Cedeño hit 2 to win the game MVP.
For the 3rd straight year the Hendersonville Hitmen had a SP selected to be the starting pitcher for the Marvin League. Scott Hill was selected in 2010, Art Ellis got it in 2011 and this year new Hitmen Walter Bamber got with his impressive 15-1 record and 2.56 ERA at the break.
In what is an off year, Scott Hill made is 3rd straight All-Star game and actually record the win in this year's game while Hitmen's Closer Martin Griffin record the save by striking out the side in the 9th.
