Injuries are crippleing the Hitmen

H'ville, Tn - Well it looks like the "Evil Empire" will be a shell of the team that GM/Owner Travis Hays actually built to compete for a title.  Over the last 5 weeks the Hitmen have suffered 11 injuries!!!

Some of the notables were losing RF John Prowse for the entire season, SU man Tommy "Flash" Smith was out for 2 weeks (the bullpen fell apart while he was out), MR Ghidewon Hassan missed a week, 2B Pedro Valdez had a nagging hamstring that limited him for 3 weeks, SP Carlos Arevalo is out for the rest of the year with a herniated disk and CF Luis Padilla tweaked his hamstring which will keep him out for 2 weeks missing the 1st Rd of the playoffs.

With Padilla going down, H'ville is now without it's starting OF.  LF Gregg Burkholder went down in June with a broken Kneecap ending his season.  RF John Prowse tore his PCL in August to end his season and now CF Luis Padilla strained his Hamstring putting him out for the first round of the playoffs.

The timing of these injuries are very frustrating as all 3 of these guys were red hot when they got hurt!
LF Gregg Burkholder:  .330 avg, 8 HR, 23 RBI, .412 OBP, 1.031 OPS in June when he got hurt
RF John Prowse:          .419 avg, 6 HR, 25 RBI, .476 OBP, 1.197 OPS in August when he got hurt
CF Luis Padilla:           .388 avg, 2 HR,  7 RBI,  .475 OBP, 1.027 OPS in September when he got hurt

What the hell is up with that!!  3 of the past 4 months my best hitter has gone done with serious injuries!!! Los Angeles Bruins lost SP Declan Parsons in mid September which is a big blow, but he is by far the deepest pitching team in the league so while the injury sucks it's not a "death blow".

Also, an injury to a SP is easier to hide since they only start once every 5 days, while on the other hand, an everyday player is a lot harder to replace.  Trying to replace 3 everyday players in a lineups is just downright stupid!

Everyone has injuries and no one knows that better than Boston, but their saving grace is that their entire roster is having CAREER years!  Again, easier to hide/mask injuries when everyone else is picking up the slack.

Here's a quick look at how the rest of the Marvin League Playoff teams Injuries look:
