Offense leading the way

H'ville, Tn (AP) - Despite the recent injuries the H'ville offense as still been on fire!  I have never seen this before but my 2B Bill Davis went 15-22 for a .714 avg, BUT the insane part is he went 15-15 to collect those hits. It quite possibly could be a BSA record, but regardless it was awesome.

Gm 1: 1-4, hit in last AB
Gm 2: 4-4, 2 2Bs, 2 1Bs, BB, 3 R
Gm 3: 4-4, 2 2Bs, 2 1Bs, BB, 2 R, RBI
Gm 4: 5-5, 2 2Bs, 3 1Bs, R, RBI
Gm 5: 1-4, hit in 1st AB

So if you include the 2 walks in game 2 and 3 then Davis reached based 17 straight plate appearances.

Also to note is the hot streak that Manny "The Cobra" Copriviza is on.  through April/May he had a pathetic slash line of .263/.341/.455/.796 with only 9 HRs and 47 RBIs.  It was starting to look like Copriviza's breakout season was a fluke until he went on a MONSTROUS tear!

Through 17 games in June he is hitting .357, 11 HRs, 26 RBIs, .430 OBP, .914 SLG and a 1.345 OPS!  At point he hit 11 HRs in 12 games including 3 multi HR games.  In that same stretch he knocked in 23 runs in those 12 games.  With his hot start he has raised his slash line to .290/.366/.576/.942 and is now 4th in the NL in HRs with 20 and leads all of BSA with 73 RBIs.

Currently through June 19th the Hitmen's offense has been the best in the National League and possibly the BSA.  Historicly the Hitmen have been a dominating pitching team with whatever offense they could manage, but this year the team is way more balanced.
