H'ville, Tn (AP) - After a season worst 15-10 record in July, the Hitmen looked to get back on their record setting track in August. Heading into the month H'ville looked to capalize on an easy schedule with only 3 of the 9 series vs teams over .500.
The Hitmen got off to a quick start by taking 2 of 3 from league friend Brouillette in LA with the lone lose in the series being a 2-0 shutout. The Hitmen finished the year with a 6-3 record vs LA with all 3 loses being shutouts and coming with Scott Hill on the mound.
After the opening series vs LA the Hitmen headed into the Boston series with a 11-2 record, but ended up dropping 2 of 3 to the defending World Series champions. That would be the only series the Hitmen would lose in August as they finished the month with a 20-8 record. It marked the 4th 20 win month of the season.

The most shocking and devastating news in Franchise history came on the last day of the month when BSA's best SP Scott Hill suffered a partially torn ulnar collateral ligament, requiring Tommy John Surgery. The injury will force Hill to miss 10-12 months. The worst news is that this is the first major injury for Hill and came just 2 months after signing a 10-year, $175M contract
