#3Peat: 2015 Hitmen Offense

H'ville, Tn (AP) - After a very unexpected busy, busy off-season the dust has settled and the 2015 lineup for the 2x reigning Champions is set.  The #Big3 have all returned but some fan favorites like Pittman, Hasegawa, Cash and "The Don" have all moved on to other teams.

Last years Hitmen team was quite possibly the greatest offensive team ever assemble as they set BSA records in Wins (119), Runs (1,033), HRs (234), and OBP (.372) and finishing 2nd All-Time in Slg. (.474) and BB (791).  Despite the record Hays still shipped out a lot of offensive talent.

"Dirty"
Catcher - "Dirty" Hernandez (#13)
2014 - .221/.295/.379/.674 16 HRs, 62 RBIs, 14 2Bs, 40 BB, 10.0 VORP, 0.7 WAR
Recap: well those numbers say it all, "Dirty" was by far the biggest dissappoint on a great team last year.  He went from a top 5 Catcher to losing his job to backup Anastasio Lopez.
2015 Expectations: I don't expect anything near his career low 2014 year! I think he will at worst hit his career avg numbers, but don't be shocked if he has a career high bounce back year and reclaims a spot in the top 5 of C.

"Yoko"
First Base - "Yoko" Yokoyama (#1)
2014 - .289/.416/.566/.981 43 HRs, 137 RBIs, 34 2Bs, 132 BB, 129 Runs, 163 Gms 74.1 VORP, 7.6 WAR
Recap: 1 of my 2 shocking blockbuster trades last yr.  A guy I've always coveted, he was my dark horse MVP & if it wasn't for his horrible start in El Paso then he might have won it.  His power, eye & clutch ability are insane, hands down one of the top 5 hitters.
2015 Expectations: I fully expect a repeat if not better year as he gets a full season with  Cole and "Cobra".  Look for his avg to be over .300 this year and Slg. closer to if not over .600!

Jeff "F'n" Cole
Second Base - Jeff "F'n" Cole (#1)
2014 - .291/.428/.551/.979 36 HRs, 124 RBIs, 35 2Bs, 140 BB, 136 Runs, 38 SB 87.0 VORP, 8.8 WAR
Recap: 1 of BSA's best players if not the best.  His epic slow start in LCC (.220, 7 HR in 52 Gms) was the key to Don moving him.  Once in Hville he WAS BSA's best player, .325/.452/.621/1.073 29 HRs, 96 RBI, 93 BB, 25 SB in 106 Gms!
2015 Expectations: Can he repeat his "Hville" portion of his 2014 season?  If so then he will be the MVP.  With a fresh new contract extention signed I think he will continue to be one of the best and WILL put up MVP numbers.

Jud Younger
Third Base - Jud Younger (#2)
2014 - .236/.345/.475/.820  17 HRs, 61 RBIs, 23 2Bs, 55 BB, 50 Runs, 91 Gms 18.4 VORP, 2.4 WAR
Recap: Younger was the tale of two hitters last year, in St. Charles he was awerful and traded to LCC where he flourished and fully developed hitting .273/.399/.568/.967 12 HRs, 16 2Bs, 42 RBIs and 41 BBs in 55 games.
2015 Expectations: I DO expect great things from Younger, but hitting .270+ would be a shocker.  I'm guessing .260ish, 40+ 2Bs, 30+ HRs, 90+ RBIs with 90+ BB and a .380+ OBP

"AP" Perez
Shortstop - Alonso "AP" Perez (#7) - INJURED
2014 - .270/.358/.403/.761  3 HRs, 38 RBIs, 18 2Bs, 35 BB, 39 Runs, 91 Gms 12.7 VORP, 2.0 WAR
Recap: "AP" has quietly become a great SS. In last 3 yrs he's hit .271/.326, .292/.350 and .270/.358 while adding 30+ 2Bs and just a notch below elite defense.  After the Brian Cash  trade "AP" was the go to guy off the bench.
2015 Expectations: Heading into the year "AP" was looking to be full time starter again.  Anything close to his career avg would have been great, but aan injury in the 1st week of season will cost Perez the 2015 season.

"Zeus"
Left Field Vic "Zeus" Robertson (R) (#4)
2014 (AAA) - .311/.426/.615/1.041  23 HRs, 71 RBIs, 18 2Bs, 59 BB, 58 Runs, 80 Gms 50.1 VORP, No WAR in minors
Recap: "Zeus" has been the gem of the H'ville farm since he was discovered in 2010 on a ski trip in Utah by then scout C. Kim.  After 3 yrs in AAA the 22-yr phenom finally gets his starting chance in The Show.
2015 Expectations: This kid is special!  Only Hill & Smith have been with the organization longer.  "Zeus" is expected to be H'ville's 1st ROY & hit around .275 with a .370ish OBP, 25+ HRs, 35+ 2Bs and 85+ RBIs.

Cruz
Center Field Jorge Cruz (#12) - INJURED
2014 - .264/.310/.476/.787  21 HRs, 85 RBIs, 46 2Bs, 132 Ks, 10 SB, 85 Runs,  23.4 VORP, 3.2 WAR
Recap: Cruz was a great late deadline addition last year.  He didn't hit for the same power as he did in Jax, but he hit for a higher Avg and OBP and was a huge asset in CF after Pittman went down.
2015 Expectations: Cruz only has 5 Errors to 35 assist in 1,233 TC in 525 career games. Not to shabby for a guy who can also hit.  Missing 1st 6 weeks hurts, but Cruz can still hit 30+ 2Bs, 15 HRs and 60-70 RBIs with a .270ish avg.

Padilla
Right Field - Luis Padilla (#2)
2014 - .304/.408/.465/.873  22 HRs, 93 RBIs, 33 2Bs, 98 BB, 123 Runs, 159 Gms 64.7 VORP, 6.4 WAR
Recap: At 23 Padilla continued to progress and landed himself inside the OSA Top 20 list constantly.  He set career highs in every category and proved to be one of the elite hitters in BSA as he finished in top 10 in 11 offensive stats.
2015 Expectations: At 24 he's still a baby and developing, but in each of his last 3 seasons he's increased in every stat.  In 2015 I'm guessing .300+, 30+ 2Bs, 25 HRs, 100+ RBIs with 90+ BB and a .400+ OBP

"The Cobra"
Designated Hitter - Manny "The Cobra" Copriviza (#1)
2014 - .315/.393/.599/.992  30 HRs, 107 RBIs, 40 2Bs, 89 Runs, 52 BB, 114 Gms 66.8 VORP, 6.7 WAR
Recap: "Cobra" was right on Hutch's heels for MVP last yr before getting injured.  He had 107 RBIs in 114 games along with 30 HRs and 40 2Bs.  Imagine what could have been w/extra 50 gms, especially hitting between Cole & Yoko.
2015 Expectations: At 25 "Cobra" is entering his 6th season in BSA, still a "kid" he has all the talent in the world to be one of the best of All-Time.  He's the original of the #Big3 and is poised for another career year. .300+/.400+/.600+ 40 HRs, 100 RBI, 40 2Bs
