#3Peat: April in Review

H'ville, Tn (AP) - The #2015 season is off and running as we enter into May and the Hitmen chase the first ever #3Peat.  April saw lots of ups and downs that you couldn't tell if you just looked at the standings.
- Started out 12-0, 2 wins shy of franchise record of 14-game winning streak
- Finished the month 8-7, but only loss one series (SF)
- Offense averaged a NL low 3.6 rpg in last last 14* gms
- Jeff "F'n" Cole sets a BSA record with a 6-6 game, then gets hit in next game in 1st AB, out 2 wks
Injuries: CF Cruz (5 wks), SS Perez (8 mths), SP Bamber (1 Wk), SU Donahue (1 Wk)

Offensive Player of the Month
"Yoko"
Shumei "Yoko" Yokoyama started the 2015 season like he was in a contract year...oh wait he is!!  "Yoko" came out smokin hot to the tune of a .410 avg, 6 HRs and 20 RBI's in the first 11 games.  He slumped mightly, much like the entire offense in the last 16 games despite a great BA of .333 he only hit 1 HR and 6 RBI's
"Yoko" took home the NL April Batter of the Month Award with a .351 avg., an outstanding .504 OBP, a tremendous .660 Slg. with 7 HRs, 26 RBIs, 8 2Bs, 29 BBs (3 4BB gms), .487 wOBA in 27 games.
Many consider Cole the best player in BSA, but Hays would argue that "Yoko" is.  A true triple crown threat and he might be the only hitter in BSA who can hit .330+ with 40 HRs, 130+ RBIs and 130+ BBs.

Pitcher of the Month
"The Franchise"
The obvious choice whenever you mention pitching awards and the Hitmen is Scott "The Franchise" Hill and you would be wrong.  Hill looks to be back to his old self if not better after Tommy John Surgery in 2013.  If it wasn't for a 4 ER outing vs the elite offense of the Looters he would have notched another Pitcher of the Month Award.
Despite that outing Hill still had a pretty dominate April going 4-2 with a 1.22 ERA, 0.59 WHIP and a astounding 41 K's to only 1 BB!  His FIP is slightly higher but still crazy lower at 2.14.
Hill also recorded his 5th career CG and 2nd career CG Shutout in April.  Struggling SU man "Muscles" Donahue blew a win for Hill also.

Some other notables in April
- SP Marcos 'Exorcist' Guerra who came over in the Earl Harper deal.  Guerra actually lead all of BSA in ERA with a 1.21 and went 4-0 in 5 starts.
- CL Tommy "Flash" Smith is a perfect 8-8 in saves and ERA 0.00 with a 0.79 WHIP and 12/3 K/BB
- Manny "The Cobra" Copriviza is crushing with a .314/.400/.598 7 HRs, 24 RBIs, 6 2Bs in 27 gms
- "Dirty" Hernandez is having a great rebound year hitting .326 with a .375 OBP, 7 2Bs but only 1 HR and 10 RBIs

April Notes:
- The Looters actually held a 1.5 game lead late in the month, the latest the Hitmen have ever been out of 1st place in history of BSA
- Jeff "F'n" Cole set a BSA record going 6-6 in a at Jacksonville
- The BSA record for BB in a game is 4,  "Yoko" has 3 4 BB games in April already
- in 9 series the Hitmen faced opponents Ace and top of rotation 6x
- H'ville swept their friendly rivals the Bruins in a 3 game series
