| W: L: SV: | W. Bamber, 1-0 S. MacOran, 0-1 A. Gonzalez, 1 |
Game 1 Recap: Walter "Claw" Bamber got to make his first career start for the Hitmen vs the team that drafted him and where he played his first two years with. Bamber went 8.0 strong innings giving up 4 ER on 3 HRs while striking out 5 and walking none. H'ville had to overcome a 4-run deficit and did so by hitting 3 HRs as Tommy Green (1), Alonso Pérez (1) and Pedro Valdéz (1) all hit 2-run shots. It was Perez's first career HR.
| W: L: SV: | S. Hill, 2-0 M. Pineda, 0-2 M. Griffin, 2 |
Game 2 Recap: Scott "The Franchise" Hill made his 2nd start of the year and was once again good, but not his usual dominate self. He went 8.0, 6 H, 2 ER, 5 Ks (12 GO) and 0 BBs. Rookie C Anastasio López hit his first career HR the day after fellow rook SS Perez hit his first career HR. Lopez went 2-4 day and knocked in 2 runs and scored twice. RF John Prowse went 2-4 with 2 2Bs and a run scored.
Game 3 Recap: The Hitmen were looking for the sweep in game 3 and sent Art Ellis to the mound on only 4 days rest to try and get their #1/#2 SP back into the 1-2 spots. Ellis only lasted 4.1 innings, (6 H, 2 ER, 3 K, 2 BB), before turning it over to the bullben. It didn't matter how well Ellis pitched though as Tyle "Big Train" Law has stepped up and looks like the new ACE for SF. Law followed his 7 shutout innings vs Sac with 8 innings of 1-run ball for the win.
One of the oddest things you will ever see in baseball happen in this game as rookie 3B Vicente Salgado lead off the 3rd inning, down 2-0 with a triple only to be caught with the ole "hidden ball trick" by 3B J. O'Quinslean. The rookie hazing has only gotten worst for Salgado as he has now been nicknamed Vicente "Hidden Ball" Salgado.
Injury: LF Gregg Burkholder was injured being hit by a pitch, (fractured foot, out for 2-3 weeks).
