May Report: Pitching sucked, hitting shined

Hville, Tn - The Hendersonville Hitmen entered May with the best record in VbL6 but didn't truly play like that, at least not in the eyes of Owner/GM Travis Hays. "This isn't the Hitmen type of baseball we are used to playing around here," commented Hays to the Press. "Our SP have struggled, especially Ellis and Chong while our bats have been very good."

The Hitmen currently have a 16-11 record in May, but have gone 11-11 since the 2nd week including a 3-game sweep by Whitewater in inter-league play.Currently Hville is 4th or 5th in most Offensive stats except HR's in which they lead the ML for the 1st time in franchise history with 75.  Outside of the Bullpen having the best ERA (2.25) the Hitmen are 2nd - 5th in most pitching categories.  While none of these are terrible, there is still a lot of room for improvement.

June at a glance:
The Hitmen might have the toughest schedule over the next 17 games as they face Los Angles, Baffin Island, TL best team Pocatello, Oklahoma, Orlando, Sacramento and then El Paso (who I will predict to catch fire this month).  I wouldn't be surprised to see H'ville tied or out of 1st place in the Ford division heading into the last week of the month.
