Orlando Series #2 Recap

Hendersonville, Tn  - After taking 2 of 3 from New York in their home opening series of 2012 the Hitmen welcomed in the hated Orlando Calrissian's for a 4-game series.  Orlando won the first series 2 games to 1 with 2 extra inning 1-run wins.  Hendersonville looks to improve on their very average 5-4 record.

Game 1 Recap: Scott "The Franchise" Hill finally turned in a "Scott Hill" performance as he went 6.1 shutout innning, striking out 8 without allowing a walk.  Despite only getting 3 hits, the Hitmen made the most out of them when rookie C Anastasio Lopez knocked in 2 with a 2B in the bottom of the 7th.  Martin "Cabfare" Griffin notched his 5th save in perfect 9th.

Game 2 Recap: Art Ellis followed Hill's dominate performance with his own masterpiece.  Ellis went 8.0 innings, striking out 11 walking 1 and allowing 2 ER on 5 Hits. Two rookies had a good game as CF Luis Padilla went 1-2, 2 BB and 2 R while 3B Vicente "Hidden Ball" Salgado had a huge 2-out bases loaded 2B that plated 2 runs.   Martin "Cabfare" Griffin got the save for the 2nd straight night.

Game 3 Recap: Orlando finally got a on the board in the series with a dominate performance by Ben Lewis.  Lewis pitched 7.0 shutout innings holding the Hitmen to only 2 hits.  Nam-Choel "Million Dollar" Chong had another rocky start as he gave up 4 R, 3 ER in 5.2 innings, but did strikeout 7.

Game 4 Recap: Walter "The Claw" Bamber continues to impress and prove that he is one of the leagues best young SP.  Bamber got his 3rd win going 7.1, 9 Ks, 2 ER,  and 1 BB.  The Hitmen banged out 12 hits but only managed to score 3 runs.  The Spring Training star 2B Pedro Valdéz had his best day of 2012 going 4-4, but unfortunately DH Manny Copriviza grounded into 2 double plays erasing the hits.  1B 1B Tommy Green added to the hits going 3-4 with an RBI 2B.




Injury: LF Gregg Burkholder fractured foot, out for 5 more days
