#3Peat: Milestones

Hville, Tn (AP) - As quite as a thieve in the night was the reaction to two pretty big milestones in Hville and BSA's history books.  Scott "The Franchise" Hill become the 1st pitcher in BSA to reach the 150th win platue and H'ville became the first franchise to hit the 600 win mark.  What makes these historic milestones even better is they both came vs division rival O-R-L.

Hill was stuck on 149 for 2 starts after failing to get the win vs New Orleans (got beat up, 4 ER) and Jersey.  The Jersey game was heartbreak and scary.  Hill was probably his most dominate we might have ever seen him as he had 9 K's, 1 BB, 1 H and 0 ER through 5.1 IP, but left the game with a sore elbow and a 3-0 lead.  Hville won the game, but not before Jersey's elite offense rocked Hville's elite pen for 6 ER's and cost Hill the win.

On May 11th vs the Orlando Calrissian's Scott Hill finally got his 150th in a typical Hill style dominance.  Getting an extra days rest for his sore elbow Hill went his "tradition" 6.2 IP, 1 ER, 9 K's 1 BB, 5 H.  H'ville won the game 14-1.

"The Franchise" has been BSA's premier SP since the league was created with 4 Cy Youngs, 6 All-Stars, 14 Player of the months, 6 seasons with ERA under 2.00, 7 seasons with WHIP under 1.00, career ERA of 1.98, career WHIP of 0.89, career FIP of 2.03, 1,835 K's to 237 BB's and a 9.58 career K/9.

"It means a lot.  You play to win the game and as a starting pitcher you just want to go out and do your best to put your team in a position to win each and every start," Hill said in his post game interview.  When asked about his elbow Hill said, "It's fine.  I could have finish the game but Greeny (trainer) wanted to be safe.  I get that, sucks though, I was feeling it that day."

The other milestone of the 600th career win by H'ville came on May 22 in Orlando as the red hot Marcos Pineda pitched a gem (5.1 IP, 5 H, 1 ER, 5 K, 0 BB) as the Hitmen won 12-1.  Jeff "F'n" Cole won player of the game going 2-2, 4 BB, 2 SB, 3 RBI, 1 R.

H'ville reached the 600th in less than 5 and half season as win came in an astonishing 872 games giving the Hitmen a career winning pct of .688.  Aaron Blank of Baffin Island has the 2nd best win total at 528, 84 wins behind H'ville's current win total of 621.  The "Dynasty" bar has been set very high by H'ville with it's 3 titles in 5 yrs and it's win total continuing to climb.

While Hays is very proud of these accomplishments, the team and organization that he has built in BSA he knows that some if not most will see this as "bragging, gloating or rubbing it in" instead of an owner reaching goals that we all play for, winning titles, games, awards and being the best.
